Waking up early and catching the final moments of light before the darkness takes over are what landscape photography is all about. Long shutter speeds, low ISO settings, and tripods are some things to plan on when your out to catch the world at it's best.
There is a lot more to photograph in the wild than just the whole scene. This gallery focuses on just that, the smaller pieces that make up the whole. Rocks, Streams, Wildlife, etc.
Infrared imagery has always been a fascination of mine. I use a converted digital camera for most of my IR work.
Action photography is a lot of fun to do. I like to shoot on shutter priority for this type of photography. I like to have control of the shutter speed, my favorite shutter speed is 1/2000 of a second. Sometimes I'll slow it down to get a little motion blur as well. The D700 handles the higher ISO speeds that are sometimes needed with ease.
People are often very interesting subjects. The art of portraiture has been studied for centuries. Great people images can be made anywhere, and in every kind of light imaginable. Soft, directional light is usually the most flattering.
